Reporting to the Academic Operations Manager, Department of Culinary Arts and professional Food Studies, this position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the student culinary market. The market is open weekdays from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM. It features all student produced food products from the culinary arts, baking and pastry arts and professional meat cutting and merchandising programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordination of services at the student market
  • Training and performance of staff
  • Establishment and management of schedules
  • Establishment of effective customer service practices
  • Establishment and maintenance of loss prevention standards
  • Menu planning, food preparation/storage, and presentations methods in coordination with program leadership

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs unassisted.
  • Flexible work hours, may be required evening/weekends
Qualifications:
  • Completion of High School diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of related post-secondary program of coursework desirable
  • 2-3 years supervisory experience in a food service operation or retail environment
  • Food Handlers certificate or equivalent an asset
  • General knowledge of Food Safety Regulations; WHMIS standards; Occupational Health and Safety guidelines
  • Food Safety and Sanitation certificate is required and must be obtained before completion of the probationary period
  • Equivalencies may be considered, combination of education and experience
Remuneration: $1,825.26 - $2,382.82 biweekly, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification - Food Services Coordinator I).

This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
