Yukon University is seeking a Student Life Coordinator to develop and administer a Community Living Program within Campus Housing focused on developmental programming while creating a safe and supportive environment for students. The role will also focus on areas related to student conduct, student mental health, and programming. Working closely with the larger University Infrastructure team and student services, the incumbent will ensure community development, student engagement, and student support and services are offered as an integrated approach. Expanding on the more traditional \xe2\x80\x9cconduct officer\xe2\x80\x9d role, this position will be responsible for the revision of the student conduct framework and development of student rights and responsibilities; updating Community Standards and conduct related processes; hiring and supervising of a Student Community Leadership Team; educating occupants on community expectations; engaging with Early Alert; and investigating and managing incidents of misconduct that arise. This position will ensure that responses to non-academic misconduct support occupants in their learning and personal development by providing opportunities for engagement, reflection, accountability, education, and reconciliation.
The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary degree in Education, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Psychology, Counseling, Social Science, or related discipline, along with several years\' professional experience in judicial services and investigations, residential life, student conduct, behavioral counseling, student advocacy or related experience, preferably in a post-secondary environment. Formal training in student conduct, administrative justice and/or risk and threat assessment are highly valued assets.
