If so, the Student, Legal position at AIMCo might be the perfect opportunity for you to gain valuable legal experience. This role provides exposure to Enterprise Legal matters, including governance, as well as Investment Legal, including international investment legal support, and legal operations.
AIMCo's Legal Services department has an opportunity for a first- or second-year law student. We are a small team of in-house professionals who believe on-the-job training is an effective way to contribute to educating the next generation in the changing world. The student will assist the Legal Services team in the execution of assigned tasks based on the individual's experience and educational background.
This is a full-time, paid position with benefits starting in May 2025 through August 2025.

Responsibilities Include:Legal research and drafting of legal memoranda
Assisting with investment transactions
Reviewing and updating minute books and corporate records
Assisting with process development, including use of AI and technologies
General contract review
Supporting members of the Legal Services Department in responding to various internal client requests
Our Ideal Candidate Qualifications:Currently enrolled at a Canadian Law School or internationally trained lawyer who has completed their Certificate of Qualification from the National Committee on Accreditation
Exceptional attention to detail
Strong organization, research, analytical and problem-solving abilities
Thrives under pressure and enjoys contributing to team goals and collaborating
Demonstrates a strong commitment to AIMCo's core values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity and collaboration, and inspires the same in others
Success Measures:
Success at the end of your term will be determined by the undertaking and completion of specified daily tasks while collaborating alongside the team, sharing your ideas, contributing to several ongoing projects, and assisting the department with implementing and improving process efficiencies.
