Job Description
The Department of Psychology has one (1) opening for a student to perform various duties as the student lab instructor for a social sciences research lab under the supervision of Dr. Jessica Strong.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Practice and model lab values of humility, accountability, collectivity, and respect of all peoples in interactions with colleagues, collaborators, and participants
- Improve and update lab protocols and practices so they align with these values
- Train and oversee student researchers on lab protocols (e.g., data collection and management)
- Maintain quality assurance (e.g., data collection and management)
- Serve as initial point-of-contact for AgeStrong PEI
- Attend bi-weekly lab meetings
- Initiate and carry out new research projects as appropriate and needed, based on community needs and priorities and the person\'s area(s) of expertise
- Work independently and as part of the collective
- Must be a current student at UPEI
- Prior experience in a community placement or clinical setting
- Prior experience in social sciences or humanities lab working with human participants
- Interest in working with older adults
- Familiarity with SPSS, Jamovi, or SAS
- Reliability, dependability, organization
- Strong interpersonal skills
