About the Position
Reporting to the Director, Indigenous Partnerships and Strategies (IPS) team, the Indigenous Intern will support the work of the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction (CCSA) by assisting Streams and Divisions with day-to-day operations and project-based activities. The intern will contribute to a range of administrative, coordination, and research-related tasks that support CCSA's organizational priorities.
This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience across multiple functions, including administrative support (emails, meeting minutes, internal coordination), research assistance, report preparation, and participation in meetings and internal engagements. Through this work, the intern will develop core professional skills such as communication, organization, and problem-solving.
This is a part-time position, consisting of one day per week (Thursdays) to align with the winter school term.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Provide administrative and coordination support to various projects and teams
Perform research related tasks as assigned
Demonstrate a willingness to learn and ask questions
Carry out assigned tasks in a professional and timely manner
Work collaboratively with team members and contribute when appropriate
Adapt to changing priorities and support a variety of tasks as needed
Qualifications
------------------
Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program (college or university) and has completed one full year of post-secondary studies
Basic experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, etc.)
Ability to write clear emails and take basic meetings notes
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Working Conditions

Work involves supporting administrative, coordination, and project-related tasks in a learning environment
Tasks may vary and require flexibility across different activities and priorities
Regular interaction with internal team members; limited interaction with external contacts as needed
Supportive environment focused on learning, mentorship, and skill development
Work performed in an office setting, no lifting or physical work required
