About this Opportunity

The Technical Project Management Intern will work with the Global Automation Team in automation programs across multiple countries. In this role you will report to an Automation Engineer and/or Project Manager and support such activities as: creating and maintaining project records and documentation (recording meeting minutes, updating actions, schedules and risk logs), engineering change control and material/inventory management.

May work autonomously once proficiency in the tasks is achieved. May be given more complex duties as proficiency is gained. Deals directly with co-workers and team members with guidance.

Preferred Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Google SmartSheets, Miro.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interface directly with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Corporate teams and internal Management.
  • Excellent organizational skills, self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines, prioritize work from various sources and work outside normal office hours to meet deadlines as necessary.
  • Ability to follow-through on deliverables and pay attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
  • Previous exposure to a manufacturing environment considered an asset.
  • Project management and administration skills with understanding of agile and waterfall.
  • Scheduling and budgeting skills.
  • Inventory/material management.
Activities
  • Creation of documentation to support a major automation project (in excess of $20M).
  • Supporting the day-to-day activities of a Project Manager - attending internal calls, internal meetings, recording and following up on meeting action items and related administrative duties.
  • Working with internal cross functional teams (Automation, Engineering, Process, Quality, and others).
  • Ensuring project documentation (plans, schedules, dashboards, issue/ risk logs, design artifacts, contract and budget tracking) is maintained throughout the length of the project.
  • Gathers, compiles, tracks and reports on information relevant to project assignment from multiple sources.
  • Compiles, reviews, and analyzes project data and prepares reports and presentations.
  • Implements Change management including conducting change control meetings.
  • Travel - 25%.
Physical Demands, duties of this position are varied and will include:
  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements are frequently required (e.g. data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.).
