We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Application Developer to join our Automation team in Toronto. In this role, you will help the Automation team build and maintain automation related processes and applications to support the many different business teams across OMERS. Depending on the applications and projects you work on, this role could also include designing user interface, performing testing, fixing bugs and resolving incidents.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:
Supporting the creation of design documents and participate in workshops across business and technology teams
Development of automations or enhancements to existing automations using a range of modern platforms
Creation of test scripts and testing of automations aligned with agile methodologies
Creation of all necessary documentation in support of the development lifecycle
Identify and communicate technical problems, processes, and solutions
To succeed in this role, you have:
Working towards completion of an undergraduate degree with a concentration in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar program
Strong command and experience in developing software solutions using core programming concepts and best practices
Demonstrated experience with understanding business requirements and coordinating with team members
Have experience in one or more of the following technologies:
C# (must have)
SQL
JavaScript
GitHub, Azure DevOps or UiPath experience will be considered as an asset
Cloud-based applications/platforms (eg. Azure, Microsoft Power Platform)
ASP.NET
Comfortable working in a fast paced environment with an appetite to quickly adopt and learn new technologies
Strong Understanding of Agile development and SDLC Methodologies
Experience analyzing the issue to find the root cause and troubleshooting incidents
Self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and a high level of attention to detail Self-motivated, able to manage time, and work with minimal supervision
Experience in project planning and coordination
Experience with workflow analysis and design
Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and accurately (both verbal and written) Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Embrace collaborative sharing of knowledge within a team environment
Display an interest in the introduction of new ideas, original and creative thinking
