The Centre for Student Engagement at the University of Toronto Mississauga is committed to holistic student learning and development. Informed by research andassessment, our campus & community based co-curricular programs, services and courses promote access to post-secondary education, transition into university, student engagement and community engaged learning.

The Student Engagement Coordinator, Leadership, Mentorship and the Co-Curricular Record, reporting to the Assistant Director, Campus & Community Engagement is responsible for developing a suite of innovative programming, aligned with institutional priorities, that supports the enhancement and development of student leadership skills and opportunities for mentorship across UTM. This position also acts as the local lead for the Co-Curricular Record which includes locating and supporting the creation of new opportunities for recognition and supporting CCR validators.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and implementing components of curricular and/or co-curricular programs and activities
  • Planning and overseeing the implementation of an evaluation framework for programs and initiatives
  • Fostering cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts
  • Facilitating educational workshops and seminars
  • Advising students on co-curricular, academic and personal matters by providing options and consequences incorporating personal circumstances impacting academic success and an understanding of an individual\'s background
  • Monitoring accounts for a project and/or program
  • Training and coaching student life staff and student leaders
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Education, Humanities, Social Sciences, Science or related discipline or acceptable combination ofequivalent experience.
  • Minimum four years of student development programming experience specifically working in a post-secondary education setting.
  • Experience in facilitating partnerships with constituents from a variety of institutional functional areas (students, student leaders, staff, faculty, administration).
  • Experience working with diverse communities & cultures and an understanding of anti-oppression and equity practices, are required.
  • Extensive knowledge and practical application of student development and social change theory.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large components of projects.
  • Proficiency in developing assessment tools, analyzing and interpreting data.
  • Exceptional relationship management skills with multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Interpersonal and cross-cultural communications skills are essential.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills are required.
  • Strong written and public speaking skills necessary.
  • Excellent administrative skills, including word processing, data analysis, desktop publishing and experience with databases.
  • Strong assessment (quantitative and qualitative) skills, including program evaluation and performance assessments.
  • Proven ability to be creative and innovative in the development and maintenance of programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of customer service and information communication standards of practice in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
  • Thorough knowledge of the University\xe2\x80\x99s procedures as they relate to the Freedom of Information and Privacy Act (FIPPA) and management of confidential student information.
  • Proven ability to deal with matters of extreme sensitivity and confidentiality.

This role is currently eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, pursuant to University policies and guidelines, including but not limited to the .

USW Pay Band 12 -- $71,842 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $91,875. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
