CG-33: $57,093.40 to $63,499.80 per annum.

About the Position



The Student Development Officer at College of the North Atlantic's (CNA's) Corner Brook Campus plays a vital role in enhancing the overall student experience by planning, developing, and delivering a wide range of non-academic student programs and activities. The role involves engaging with prospective, current, and graduate students to support their personal and professional development, foster campus community, and promote student success. Specific duties include but are not limited to:

Coordinate student events: organize campus events such as orientation, graduation, and student socials, that includes event planning, budgeting, vendor coordination, promotion, and day-of coordination.

Promote College programs: develop and implement marketing strategies to increase awareness of CNA's programs within the region; and represent CNA at regional fairs, high schools, and community events.

Assist with student recruitment initiatives: collaborate with recruitment teams to help attract new students through open houses, information sessions, and outreach campaigns.

Lead campus tours: organize and lead campus tours for high school students and community groups, highlighting campus services, programs, and facilities.

Provide career support: assist students and graduates find jobs and internships; maintain employer contacts; update job boards; and provide job search advice.

Coordinate Peer Tutoring: manage the Peer Tutoring program by recruiting, training, and scheduling tutors to support student learning.

Connect with high schools: build relationships with regional high schools and help students transition to college through visits and presentations.

Committee involvement: actively participate in campus committees, such as the scholarship and graduation Committees, helping to organize meetings and support decisions.

Support Student Council: guide and assist the Student Council with meetings, activities, and communication with College staff.

Student life support: assist students with transitions, financial aid, accommodations, appears, and scholarships; and provide private support and connect them with helpful resources.

Other related duties: carry out other student services tasks as needed, helping to support campus goals and improve the student experience.

Merit Criteria



Screening Criteria



Diploma in Business Administration (equivalencies will be considered).

Experience in planning, organizing, and delivering programs or events designed to actively involve participants.
