Job Summary


Student Affairs is a collection of integrated units that collaborates with faculty, staff and students to enhance the student experience. We promote an inclusive, holistic and student-centric approach to learning and academic success and act as a professional resource in the delivery of evidence-based student enrolment, wellness, development and academic support programs and services. Reporting to the Director, Residence Life, the Student Conduct Administrator is responsible for the equitable and consistent application of the Residence Community Living Guide, ensuring adherence to community standards within the university's residential environment.


Key Responsibilities


Oversight of the case management of the Residence Community Living Guide from triage, information gathering, decision, resolution planning, and closing case files. Provide strategic direction to Residence Life Managers on restorative approach and response frameworks for addressing student behavioural incidents in residence. Advise Residence Life Managers on responses to student behavioural issues and community concerns by leading information gathering, mapping contextual factors, and recommending structured response plans for implementation. Conduct intentional outreach to students in residence community through in-person room visits and door knocks when contact is required for well-being checks or student behaviour follow-up. Develop and facilitate training sessions for student leaders and staff on topics such as professional report writing, incident response and reporting, conflict mediation, leadership, community development, facilitation, process design and mapping, and other topics as needed. Support Residence Life Team onsite on high-risk periods by being an active presence and responsive to issues in residence and on campus as required or outlined in operational plans. Identify key trends occurring across the residence system, raising them with the Director, Residence Life Team, and Community Safety Teams. Compile and record incident report summaries for review with students before information gathering meetings. Ensure proper closure of incident reports and resolution plans following completion, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.



Note


Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in-person on campus.




Required Qualifications


Undergraduate degree in a related field with three to five years' administrative experience, preferably supporting students in a post secondary environment (or an equivalent combination of training and experience). Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and often events that are unplanned. A high degree of proficiency in computer skills and relevant post-secondary software utilization. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, specific to conflict situations, policy management, and legal considerations. Exceptional relationship building with varied groups including student from varied backgrounds and experiences including students, staff, and faculty across the institutions. Proven commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.



Assets


Experience in case management including supporting student development and behaviour. Experience with restorative practices. Experience with post-secondary conduct policy/process.
