MacEwan University is seeking a Student Assistant, Welcome Centre, for a casual opportunity with our Student Life department. You will act as the first point of contact for all visitors, assist with the day-to-day processes and procedures for the Welcome Centre and Student Life Office and ensure a positive, welcoming and informative experience. You will also provide a culture of exceptional customer service and enhance future and current students' overall educational experiences.


This student casual role will involve working close to full-time hours from June to mid-July. From mid-July through August 30, the position will transition to full-time hours. Beginning in September and continuing through March 30, 2026, the role will shift to part-time hours, averaging approximately 15 hours per week. This schedule allows for flexibility during the academic year while supporting increased availability during the summer months.


Key responsibilities include:

Greeting visitors, future and current students to MacEwan University and connecting them with appropriate support services, executive offices, schools, faculties, and departments; Assisting with the coordination and the scheduling of campus tours, including working with the MacEwan Tour Guides, MacEwan Ambassadors, and conducting campus tours; Assisting with the recruitment, training, and coordination of Campus Tour Guide Program and other student leaders; Establishing and maintaining communication with students through email, telephone, and social media channels such as Facebook, Discord and Instagram; Assisting with basic graphic design projects using Canva; and Providing administrative support to other Student Life events and initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Currently enrolled as a full-time student at MacEwan University, with a minimum of 18 credits completed in your program of study. Must be in good academic standing with a minimum 2.70 GPA. A variety of experiences on your Student Experience Record would be considered an asset. Leadership experience or participation in a MacEwan sanctioned Leadership and Volunteer program is considered an asset.
