Job Description
The UPEI Faculty of Education is seeking up to two education students to help facilitate an early childhood program which is part of the Literacy & Numeracy Outreach Project.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in training and program development sessions.
- Plan and deliver arts & play-based, inquiry-led activities to help boost literacy and numeracy skills in children aged 2 - 8 years.
- Work closely with families to foster a sense of community and a supportive learning environment.
- Successful candidate will be enrolled in a UPEI graduate program
- Previous experience and or training with early years and early childhood education
- Knowledge of early numeracy and early literacy development
- Understanding of social & emotional learning
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with a team
- An understanding of play pedagogy, holistic education and active learning environments would be considered an asset
- A Bachelor of Education degree will be considered an asset
