Duties
Services is seeking an Academic Attendant to perform the following duties:
Attend classes with assigned student(s);
Take notes for assigned student(s);
Organize and attend regularly scheduled;
Work with assigned student(s) on academic-related tasks including scribing assignments, essays, tests/exams;
Uphold and maintain confidentiality;
Assist with proctoring in the Test Centre;
Attend training and communicate regularly with the supervisor; and other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience
Considerable advanced skills and judgment
Ability to work independently and/or with others effectively
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, including excellent listening
Ability to extract essential components of lectures for note-taking purposes
Strong attention to detail, excellent problem solving skills, punctual, organized and self-motivated
Demonstrated success in post-secondary education
Willingness to work flexible hours that correspond to student schedules, including evenings and weekends
Knowledge of Office 365 and computers
Previous experience working with individuals with a disability is an asset
Preference given to current Brandon University student; with enrollment in graduate program or holding a graduate
degree
