The Opportunity


Keyano College's Sport & Wellness Centre requires Student Assistants - Game Day. These positions work in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. This is an hourly position that is expected to have up to 16 hours of work per week with the majority of shifts being on Fridays and Saturdays.

Duties & Responsibilities


This position is required to assist with: answering questions from guests during game day reception, validating and processing game admittance, cash handling processes, cleaning game day equipment / bleachers/hardwood, equipment set-up and tear down Canteen operations will require pro serve certification, handling cash and use of POS system to process orders. Customer service skills Game day table operations, running score clock, shot clock, filling in STAT sheets and maintaining accurate records and flow of game Monitoring the Kid zone operations ensuring that all waivers are signed, and safety rules are being enforced. Minor officiating inventories Manual labor expected other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Minimum grade 12 education or GED Must be proficient in English Team members must be able to multi-task, to work independently or as a member of a team, and to communicate openly with fellow co-workers as well as guests. Familiarity with sport and official calls and sport facility rules of conduct for Volleyball and Basketball. Candidates must be able to lift 50lbs weight. The position requires availability on weekends and evenings. Experience with score clocks and/or score sheets considered assets Previous experience in Sports with preference given to Basketball, Volleyball, and Soccer Experience as a mascot is considered an asset Familiarity with Presto software is considered an asset Knowledge of sport calls Pro Serve or willingness to get pro serve
Compensation and Benefits


CUPE Student Rate - $16.20 per hour
