Login to your McGill Workday account and apply to this posting using the Find Jobs report (type Find Jobs in the search bar).Position Summary:Reporting to the Administrative Supervisor, the Student Affairs Administrator is responsible for student affairs activities focusing on admission and testing requirements for the programs in the Department of Integrated Studies in Education. Provide administrative student affairs support to Department Chair and Program Directors.Primary Responsibilities:Administer student affairs activities related to admissions to relevant Department of Integrated Studies (DISE) programs, such as, but not limited to the pre-assessment and assessment of student self assessments of subject expertise, determining advanced standing in programs, CASPER testing and required language testing.Plan, organize and oversee student affairs events including but not limited to recruitment activities such as Departmental Open Houses (virtual or in person).Communicate with students both virtually and in-person by appointment and drop-in regarding admissions, assessments and testing.Liaise with relevant personnel in the Faculty of Educations Internships and Student Affairs office as well as with individuals tasked with communication and student recruitment.Oversee all aspects of the delivery of the English Exam for Teacher Certification (EETC).In collaboration with the teacher education leadership team, implement new processes for academic activities; For example, process for the Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning (MATL) early admission applications, logistics for the administration and documentation for English Exam for Teacher Certification (EETC), English Language Proficiency Test (ELPT), French Language Proficiency Test FLPT and related exams. Participate in the development of new online forms to be used for admissions and program tracking.In collaboration with CEGEPs, Faculty and Advisors discern equivalent courses, and update this information bi-annually.Compile statistics and data for inclusion in departmental reports. Update documents and reports (eg. Program checklists, progress reports etc.), either in print or web form.Provide administrative student affairs support to Chair and Program Directors.Organize course scheduling to ensure timely and effective delivery of program curricula.Act as the primary contact for MATL students, providing guidance and support for academic advising and program requirements.Perform other related duties as required.Other Qualifying Skills and/or AbilitiesA Bachelor's degree is preferred.Experience administering student affairs activities.Must be able to demonstrate a high level of initiative, attention to detail, independence, and critical thinking skills in solving problems.Possesses strong organizational and time management skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment and interact positively an effectively with internal and external stakeholders.Knowledge of University policies and procedures is an asset. Proficiency with Microsoft suite, database design/management (Microsoft Access, Crystal Reports), spreadsheets, electronic correspondence, Web, and online communications tools. Knowledge of the university student information systems (Banner SIS and Minerva).Experience using DCU,SLATE, MyProgress is an asset.Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.
