Job Description







Nature of the Work:
The principal and customary work of the employee in this employment class consists, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, in applying special education techniques and methods within the context of an intervention plan or, a program intended for students requiring special support.

Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, participate in the development of intervention plans;
  • Record observations and follow-up with appropriate personnel, as required;
  • Formulate action plans in collaboration with students, provide feedback, and develop strategies for behaviour management and for academic success;
  • Use intervention techniques to assist students in crisis;
  • Adapt and develop tools and techniques to support students in their learning;
  • Meet with students to monitor their progress and if necessary, provide assistance;
  • Provide relevant documentation and referrals;
  • Meet and collaborate with teachers in order to sensitize and to inform them about specific cases and reasonable accommodations as required;
  • Meet and communicate with internal and external service providers and family members in order to coordinate and clarify support;
  • Use information technology and communication tools available to perform various tasks;
  • Perform other related tasks.

Length of the contract : December 2023 to May 31, 2024
Requirements :
Qualifications:
To have a diploma of college studies (DEC) in an appropriate specialty or, a diploma or an attestation of studies which is recognized as equivalent by the competent authority.

Conditions:
  • Applied Behavioural Therapy (ABT) training is an asset
  • Proven knowledge of how to work with individuals with various disabilities, both behavioural and physical
  • Advanced oral and written English communication skills (testing may be required)
  • Intermediate oral and written French communication skills (testing may be required)
  • Intermediate level Microsoft Word (testing may be required)
  • Basic level Microsoft Excel skills (testing may be required)
