David Nairne & Associates Ltd (DNA) is a multi-disciplinary firm of civil engineers, structural engineers, architects, planners, and project managers. With more than 50 years of experience and a team of 60+ professionals, we work on unique projects throughout BC and northern Canada. Our client base includes Federal, Provincial, Indigenous, and Metis governments, as well as government agencies and private sector developers. Many of our projects are in stunning, remote communities where our work has meaningful impact.

The Opportunity

- DNA has a highly skilled team of structural engineers and technologists with extensive experience in the assessment, planning, design, and retrofit of a diverse range of residential, light industrial, healthcare, educational, infrastructure, and institutional buildings. Our projects vary greatly in complexity and size, with many located in small, remote communities facing challenging site conditions, including climate and accessibility constraints.



We are seeking a motivated, proactive, and talented

Intermediate Structural Technologist

with a minimum of 10 years of experience, registered with ASTTBC. In this role, you will be responsible for developing structural drawings, performing basic structural design, mentoring junior technologists, and conducting field reviews, with opportunities for career growth.



The successful candidate will bring the following skills and expertise:

Technical Proficiency




Structural drawing preparation from concept to construction phase Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit Experience in basic structural design and analysis Field review and construction administration experience Competency in MS Office for documentation and reporting



Industry Knowledge and Standards




Experience with timber projects (considered a distinct asset) Knowledge of developing and maintaining drawing standards



Communication and Collaboration




Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and client interactions Experience in training and mentoring junior technologists



Organizational and Time Management




Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently



Qualifications and Experience




Registered with ASTTBC Minimum 10 years of professional experience, including at least 1 year of work experience in Canada Valid BC driver's license
