Are you a certified Ironworker with strong leadership experience and a passion for field installation? We're hiring a
Structural Steel Lead Installer
to take charge of field crews and deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality installations of structural and miscellaneous steel on-site.
This is a
hands-on leadership role
for those who take pride in their trade, are confident reading blueprints, and know how to motivate a crew while maintaining safety and schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Crew Management
Supervise and lead a crew of Ironworkers in the field
Assign tasks and direct day-to-day installation activities
Mentor and support crew members with safety and skill development
Ensure compliance with site rules, safety policies, and procedures
Communicate progress and concerns to the Field Foreman
Field Installation
Install structural and miscellaneous steel components
Read and interpret blueprints and field drawings
Perform rigging, hoisting, bolting, alignment, and adjustments
Conduct on-site welding, grinding, and fitting as required
Safely operated lifts, telehandlers, and other equipment
Safety & Site Operations
Lead daily Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs)
Ensure proper use of PPE and always fall protection
Participate in incident and near-miss reporting
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work site
Identify and report material or equipment issues
Requirements:
Journeyperson certification in Ironworking
3-5 years of field installation experience
3+ years of experience leading a field crew
Strong blueprint reading and layout skills
Proficient in rigging, hoisting, and field welding
Valid certifications: Fall Protection, AWP, telehandler, etc.
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Willingness to work overtime and out-of-town when needed
Schedule & Hours:
Monday to Thursday:
7:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Friday:
7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Overtime available
based on project needs
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $35.00-$39.00 per hour
