RESPONSIBILITIES
Designing of electrical substation structures for 12kV to 500kV, including switchgear and control buildings, switchyard and gantry structures, as well as telecommunication structures, retaining wall and transformer oil containment systems.
Designing of foundations for transmission towers, steel monopoles and wood pole structures.
Supporting the development of proposals, study reports, engineering specifications, and contract documents.
Ensuring personal and team output is completed on time, on budget, and exceeding quality standards
Establishing good working relationships and communication with internal and external stakeholders
Efficiently and effectively managing multiple tasks independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Proficiency in concrete, steel and masonry design
Providing engineering technical support to the field during construction
Traveling to and visiting client sites
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or higher specializing in structural design.
Engineer-In-Training (EIT) status or eligible to register with the Engineers & Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC).
0-3 years of structural engineering experience on electrical substation projects and/or heavy industrial projects or related design experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
General working knowledge of structural analysis software such as STAAD Pro and SAP 2000
