Twin Peaks Engineering Ltd. is looking for a motivated and skilled Structural Engineer-In-Training (EIT) to join our Structural Engineering department in our Whistler office, British Columbia. We are looking for candidates with the correct mix of technical and personal skills that will assist in the development of Structural Designs & Drawings and management & running of projects with clients and contractors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background using Revit and structural analysis software.

Responsibilities



Assist in delivery of projects under guidance of the Project Engineer / Associate Engineer including design process, assisting with inspection of works onsite and completion of projects.

Perform detailed design calculations and analysis under the direct guidance of the Project Engineer / Associate Engineer.

Work with our drafting team for preparation of design drawings. Review drawings to ensure compliance with design intent. Preparation of details and drawings using REVIT.

Attend site visits related to pre-design information gathering, during and post-construction review, and structural condition assessments. Review of shop drawings.

Assist in preparing written reports under the guidance of the Project Engineer / Associate Engineer. Describe findings of structural assessments clearly and concisely.

Adherence to the office Professional Practice Management Plan (PPMP) under the EGBC Professional Governance Act.

Complete office administrative tasks such as compilation of project documentation and preparation of building permit documents for submission.

Requirements



Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering from an accredited university.

Registration (or the ability to register) as an Engineer In Training (EIT) with Engineers & Geoscientists BC (EGBC).

0 to 3 years of relevant work experience.

Structural design experience in timber, steel and reinforced concrete structures preferred.

Experience working with Canadian codes and design standards.

Ability to work independently, conduct research and take direction.

Be able to communicate effectively in English both written and oral

Ability to work and reside in Canada.

Pay: $24.00-$34.00 per hour
