The Opportunity
McElhanney Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a Structural Drafter or Technologist in Kelowna, Salmon Arm, Cranbrook, or Canmore. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their design experience by working on a wide variety of structural engineering projects. The successful candidate will be an expert with AutoCAD and other technical software.

What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Be Doing:
Perform preliminary design and detailed drafting of steel, concrete, wood and masonry structures for a wide variety of structural engineering projects, including buildings and civil structures.
Work with other team members to ensure schedules, budgets, and quality control standards are achieved and maintained.
Collaborate with other disciplines both internally and externally.
Assist in improving AutoCAD and Revit standards for structural drafting.
Opportunities to complete field inspections to monitor the quality and progress of the work being performed.
Opportunities to manage projects of medium scope and complexity. This includes meeting with clients, defining scope and budget to prepare proposals, and managing the schedule and budget of projects from concept to final delivery of drawings through to site inspections and project completion.

What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Bring: Certificate or Diploma of Technology, plus:
0 - 5 years of experience in a similar role for junior candidates.
6 - 10 years of experience in a similar role for intermediate candidates.
Registration or eligibility for future registration as an AScT or other technical accreditations is an asset.
Experience with structural design or drafting and technical standards / specifications is an asset.
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.
Experience with Revit is an asset.
Construction or structural consulting experience is an asset.
Attention to detail and drive for excellence.
Effective verbal and written communication skills as well as a positive, team-orientated attitude.
