Job Summary

D.L. Engineering is seeking a

Structural Designer

, preferably with experience in

Canadian low-rise wood framing

. You'll work on various residential projects including subdivisions, custom homes, and additions. This is a great opportunity for someone detail-oriented, technical, and looking to grow in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

Perform structural design and calculations for low-rise residential buildings Review and stamp structural drawings per Ontario Building Code (Parts 9 & 4) Use WoodWorks Sizer and AutoCAD for design Design floor layouts, beams, lintels, tall walls, foundations, and footings Mark up drawings using Adobe Acrobat Conduct quality control checks on your own and team members' work Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and internal teams Prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines Perform related duties as required

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, Master's in Structural Engineering, or CET Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Excellent communication skills in English

Preferred:

Experience in wood frame residential construction Strong knowledge of Ontario Building Code (Parts 9 & 4) Proficient in AutoCAD, WoodWorks Sizer, and Adobe Acrobat Experience with Tekla, ETABS, Microsoft Excel and Word AutoCAD drafting and technical writing skills
