Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Intermediate Structural Designer to join our structural engineering team at our Bolton office. This candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering design and have worked across a broad spectrum of structural engineering projects. In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed design drawings and specifications for various structural engineering projects in institutional, commercial, heavy-civil, and residential sectors. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members at all stages of project delivery to ensure that all designs meet project requirements and comply with relevant legislation, codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Candidate will work with engineers in preparing detailed plans, drawings and specifications for structural engineering projects from design development to construction ready drawings.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure designs meet project requirements.

Communicate with clients, contractors, stakeholders during the course of the project

Complete detailed working drawings AutoCAD and/or Revit.

Review and analyze design options and recommend solutions.

Ensure accuracy, quality, and clarity of project deliverables.

Attend site visits as needed by project.

Qualifications:

Strong background in structural engineering design and principles

Highly proficient in computer-aided drafting software AutoCAD, Revit.

Knowledge of industry best-practice drafting standards.

Understanding of construction sequence, method, materials.

Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver projects with minimum supervision.

Possess excellent written and oral communication skills in professional consulting setting

Other Requirements:

A valid Ontario G driver's license

Post-secondary certificate in civil engineering technologist or equivalent

Access to a vehicle for travel to and from project sites
