The Memory Lane Family Place Association is currently seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual, who is interested in joining our team. Our mission is "To provide preventive programs and services to children and families in our community that are strength-based and provide healthy family development".

The successful candidate is required to develop, organize, and facilitate programs that strengthen and enhance support for families, particularly those who are facing difficult issues and challenges.

- Services include child-focused, adult-focused, and family-focused programming.

- The successful candidate will possess a solid understanding of early childhood education and adult education principles.

- The candidate must also demonstrate solid analytical, problem-solving, program development, and group facilitation skills.

- Experience with community development and knowledge of local resources are integral to this position.

- Excellent interpersonal skills, time management and organizational skills are also required.

Qualifications



Education and Experience



University degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education, Social Sciences, or related studies, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Understanding of adult education principles

Experience in community development work

Minimum one year of related experience

Previous experience working with families with children who are part of the intended population of the organization

A working knowledge of government and community-based programs and services that relate to the intended population's needs

Current certification or willingness to become certified in safe food handling, WHMIS, Emergency First Aid, and Infant/Child CPR

Group facilitation skills using adult education principles

Basic computer literacy skills

Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills

Ability to work effectively with participants, volunteers, staff, management, non-profit or publicly funded groups, agencies, and organizations

Accurate record-keeping abilities

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Ability to follow instructions and make decisions within the parameters of the position

Ability to form trusting relationships, respecting boundaries

Ability to develop, plan and facilitate programs to children, youth and families

Additional Information



This position requires:

1. The ability to function both independently and collaboratively

2. The ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule

3. Satisfactory Child Abuse Registry check and required Police Checks

4. Access to reliable transportation

5. Packing, lifting, setting up, and closing down of community-based program-related materials.
