Strength & Conditioning Specialist / Personal Trainer

to join our growing team at JAG Hotel in St. John's, NL.

We are looking for a motivated professional with a positive "can-do" attitude, strong work ethic, and excellent critical-thinking skills. A high level of professionalism and a passion for health and wellness are essential.

Reporting to the Wellness Centre Supervisor, the Strength & Conditioning Specialist / Personal Trainer will be mentored by Jon-Erik Kawamoto, MSc, CK, CSCS and follow the JKC Conditioning model. In this role, you will be responsible for completing and assisting with:

Duties & Responsibilities

:

Design and deliver customized fitness programs tailored to each client's unique needs, goals, and ability level, ensuring a holistic approach to health, fitness, and wellness Lead 1-4 clients individually in personal training sessions, providing individualized attention and results Ability to multitask to ensure that all class participants have a high-quality experience. Provide guidance on proper form and equipment use, offering constructive feedback to support clients' progress Build and maintain respectful relationships with clients based on trust and integrity, prioritizing their needs and avoiding high-pressure sales tactics Simplify complex fitness information by creating effective, results-driven workouts that help clients achieve long-term goals Stay current on emerging fitness trends and research for marketing and website initiatives. Inspire, motivate, and educate clients throughout their fitness journey, fostering sustainable health and wellness Participate in continuous on-the-job training and mentoring, embracing growth and collaboration Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a safe and inclusive environment for clients

Education, Experience & Qualifications:

Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Human Kinetics, Kinesiology, or a related field is required Fitness coaching certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Can be either the Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), or the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) designation A minimum of 2 years of fitness industry experience Experience teaching group exercise classes CPR Certificate and First Aid Certificate Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills Highly self-motivated and conscientious, demonstrating a strong passion for personal fitness.

Working Hours:

40 hours a week, with flexibility to work early morning and weekend hours
