Markham Athletics is a high-performance training facility dedicated to helping athletes of all levels build strength, speed, and long-term athletic development. We work with youth, high school, and adult athletes through structured training programs and performance tracking systems.
This role is ideal for a recent graduate in kinesiology or a related field who's looking to gain hands-on experience in an athletic performance setting. You'll work alongside experienced coaches, lead training sessions, and support the ongoing development of athletes across a wide age range.
Key Responsibilities
Coach small group and private training sessions (youth, teen, and adult athletes)
Assist with athlete assessments, combine testing, and performance tracking
Deliver workouts in line with our programming philosophy and system structure
Create a safe, high-energy, and professional training environment
Communicate clearly with athletes, parents, and staff
Support the upkeep of the facility and equipment
Participate in ongoing team development and internal coach education
Qualifications
Degree or diploma in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field
Certified Personal Trainer (CPT)
and
Strength & Conditioning Certification
(e.g., CSCS, NCCP, or equivalent)
Required upon hiring or must be completed within 3 months of start date* CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to complete before start date)
Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check (required upon hiring)
Strong communication skills, energy, and professionalism
Ability to coach athletes of different ages and abilities
Open-minded, coachable, and eager to grow with the team
Preferred Experience (Not Required)
Coaching or internship experience in a performance training or athletic setting
Previous background as a competitive athlete or team sport experience
Familiarity with athlete tracking or data-based programming
