Job Title: Strategist

OVERVIEW:

The Strategist is responsible for developing and supporting the development of media strategy for EssenceMediacom\'s client roster.

The Strategist will work closely with individuals and teams across the agency throughout the planning process. For certain key accounts, the Strategist will be the day-to-day strategy support with knowledge of and involvement in plans as they move through Systems thinking planning -working with the various teams as necessary. For other accounts, the Strategist will support others in servicing the client\'s strategy needs.

The Strategist will champion Breakthrough Planning and will play a key role in ensuring plans are developed and executed according to systems thinking planning.

YOUR IMPACT:

  • Contributes to the development of communications strategies that activate consumer insights, drive innovation for clients and provide structure for brand channel presence/priorities
  • Exhibits understanding and actively contributes strategic input/product into the total channel planning process
  • Distills client briefs and helps translate them into an insights-led media strategy and communication brief with clear media objectives
  • Build target profiles that illustrate behavioral and psychographic motivations. Go beyond demographic and statistical listings to deliver insightful illustration on target habits, preferences, and channel behaviors
  • Supports development of and identifies key roles for media; helps to define how media should complement and connect with other marketing activities
  • Works closely with Planners to ensure that strategy is followed-through to execution
  • Partners with all teams throughout the plan build, ensuring that the strategy is inspiring and actionable.
  • Assists in the development of plan presentations with planning teams
  • Works in partnership with analytics and insights group to ensure appropriate measurement plans are in place
  • Collaborates with partner agencies to integrate messaging and creative campaigns into overall media/communications plans
  • Contributes to and maintains a pipeline of creative stimulus to be injected into the agency to challenge, push, and generate more inspiring thinking and execution
  • Contributes to and maintains strategic intelligence via keeping abreast of industry developments, macro and consumer trends, technology (tablet, other tech devices), etc.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3 + years comms agency experience with minimum 1 + years\' media experience
  • Post-secondary degree, specialization in Advertising and/or Marketing an asset
