Job Description

We are looking for a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join our Sourcing Team! Our Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for improving our supply chain through the selection of supply partners for the business in a manner that is cost-efficient, promotes innovation, and minimizes risk. You will be managing categories; sourcing, securing and reviewing vendors; evaluating the cost and quality of goods or services; analyzing data and information related to vendor management; and running projects to deliver business benefits.

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for the strategic procurement of direct /indirect categories including commodities, supplies, equipment, and services to be used by the organization. This individual will utilize expert knowledge to develop sourcing strategies to purchase goods and services at the most favorable price for the company, while simultaneously building and maintaining strategic relationships with key suppliers.

Knowledge & skills

Experience



You have at least 5 years or relevant experience working in Procurement (preferably in a similar capacity within the Food & Beverage industry, Packaging /indirect categories.) You have a Post-secondary Degree in Business and/or APICS/SCMP accreditation. Knowledge of laws, ordinances, and regulations pertaining to corporate purchasing practices.

Experience with Smartsheet / ERP system (Oracle NetSuite) Familiarity with food and beverage packaging systems

Detailed Description of Duties:



Analyze assigned categories to build category profile incorporating key usage and purchase data. Draft and execute category strategies to achieve reduced costs, increased process efficiencies, and improve supplier performance across several categories of spend across both direct and indirect categories. Lead all resourcing/new sourcing projects, which include breaking down components to establish target costs, processing RFx for sourcing new suppliers. Work with internal stakeholders as well as group entities to develop custom/complex contracts, identifying costs associated with risks, developing risk mitigation approaches; in particular, where a potential outsource may be involved. As a SME in multiple procurement categories, you will support Management in annual budgeting process by developing and implementing procurement strategies to achieve corporate targets. Demonstrate a deep knowledge in analysis as it relates to market assessments, the development of evaluation plans, negotiation strategies and contract risk mitigation. Review of contracts with a view to negotiating favorable terms and conditions, risk mitigation plan and appropriate pricing mechanisms. Enables procurement strategic objectives by periodically reviewing and recommending adjustments to sourcing strategies, processes, systems, and tools. Take ownership of all data in ERP and contract management tools Build cross-functional support and charter projects through Stage Gate process. Be an escalation point for supply issues that can't be resolved by Supply Chain within the current model. Participate in innovation projects led by Marketing & R&D for new products, line extensions and renovations.
