Job Description

Strategic Buyer



The role of the Plant Buyer is to manage the suppliers' performance (financial, quality, and delivery) at the plant level and to support the plant's Quality and Logistic functions while addressing operational issues with the suppliers.

Mission



Sourcing for Items or Subcontracting not Consolidated at the Branch Level:

Local opportunities Short-term subcontracting Structural subcontracting (if not bundled at the branch level)
Sourcing for Local General Expenses:

Annual functioning contracts (Cleaning, Housekeeping, Energy...) All purchases not made globally.
PC&L Support:

First level of escalation in case of plant emergency (supply crisis) Support to the SQC when purchasing action is needed.
Management of Serial Purchasing:

Ramp up / Ramp down, Rescheduling, Change requests, End of life.
Owner of OTD and OQD Performance for the Plant:

Monthly industrial performance workshop Leads the monthly industrial performance meeting (triplette) together with the Procurement Agent and the SQC

Technical Skills:



Basic industrial skills (Logistics, Quality, Production) Basic purchasing skills (negotiation, supplier management) Problem resolution skills

IT / Language Skills:



English speaking mandatory SAP friendly

Behavioral Skills:



Ability to work in a matrix organization. Responsiveness and problem-solving skills

Managerial Skills:



Ability to facilitate a multifunctional meeting ("triplette")

The ideal candidate will have:



Graduated from a high business school or an engineering school, ideally with a master's degree in Purchasing. 3 years or more of experience in purchasing within an industrial context. Strong communication skills Basic negotiation skills Ability to work in a matrix organization. Responsiveness and problem-solving skills
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
