The opportunity:
We are currently looking for a Strategic Contract Lead to join our Procurement team. Reporting to the Manager, Business Operations, your primary responsibility will be procurement sourcing and contract management for NPSML's strategic contracts.
You are experienced in sourcing and managing third party solutions to meet multi-year business needs. You are able to identify and articulate value driven procurement outcomes ensuring the company's commercial interests and risk exposure are effectively managed.
The candidate must ensure process integrity, provide commercial insight, protect the Company against third party risk exposure and provide contracting expertise and support to the team. This multifaceted role also involves taking on responsibilities related to compliance and risk management, contributing to the overall business operations of the Maritime Link.
Key elements of this role include:

• Lead the execution and administration of sourcing strategies and activities, including Requests for Proposals development, proposal evaluations, negotiations and recommendations.
• Provide oversight and direction in drafting, coordinating, and managing contracts, ensuring deliverables, commercial terms, risk mitigation, and performance obligations are clearly defined and achieved.

• Monitor contract performance, key risks, and supplier compliance to ensure optimal outcomes and continuous improvement in vendor supplier management.
• Liaise between internal stakeholders and external partners, fostering collaboration, resolving issues, and supporting strategic relationships with key suppliers.
• Support the company's compliance and risk management programs through proactive identification, assessment, and mitigation of business and operational risks.
• Project Management of initiatives undertaken in the Compliance and Regulatory program function.
• Provide leadership and support to other team members.
• Lead initiatives to enhance procurement processes, tools, and reporting to drive efficiency, transparency, and accountability across the supply chain.
• Other duties as required to support the team in meeting its objectives including supporting smaller procurements

What skills will make you successful?

• Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field. Supply Chain Management (SCMP) designation is an asset. A combination of relevant education and training may be considered.
• Possess a minimum of 3-5 years experience in developing and managing complex, strategic agreements.
• Experience leading organizational projects; PMP certification would be an asset.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, compliance and risk management principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, relationship-building and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Experience working in a regulated environment would be an asset.
