Our flagship Government St store features locally made products from over 100 artisans, while our Tours and Transportation division connects visitors with authentic Island experiences year-round.
Experience Victoria is seeking an energetic Store Manager to oversee daily retail operations, lead a passionate team, and ensure an exceptional customer experience. This role requires a balance of leadership, operational management, vision, and hands-on retail expertise. Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and motivate staff to achieve sales goals and deliver exceptional service.
Manage day-to-day store operations including merchandising, inventory control, and cash management.
Maintain the visual presentation, cleanliness, and organization of the store.
Coordinate product ordering, receiving, and vendor communication with local artisans and suppliers.
Plan and adjust inventory and merchandising based on seasonal trends and tourism flow.
Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and operational standards.
Analyze sales performance and operational data to identify opportunities for improvement.
Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team that reflects the values of the Experience BC brand.
Collaborate with the Tours and Transportation team to cross-promote experiences and enhance the visitor journey.
Support marketing and community initiatives that highlight our "Shop Local" mission
Responsibilities
Proven experience in retail management or a similar supervisory role.
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence outcomes positively.
Proficiency in POS systems and cash handling procedures.
Solid understanding of budgeting, bookkeeping, and administrative tasks related to store operations.
Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail and time management abilities.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with effective phone etiquette.
Experience in training & development of staff to enhance performance and service quality.
Knowledge of merchandising principles and retail sales strategies is essential.
Ability to lead by example, motivating the team towards achieving common goals.
