True North Sports + Entertainment is looking for a retail manager to join our team Jets Gear team. The Store Manager, Jets Gear Polo Park oversees the daily operation of the Polo Park Jets Gear mall location with a particular focus on sales, customer service, store merchandising, scheduling, payroll, managing inventory, reporting and assisting in hiring staff for the store.



What to be excited for in this role:

Scheduling
  • Track daily and weekly sales trends to maximize efficiency of labor.
  • Using these trends, prepare and forecast monthly staffing needs.
  • Work with staff to understand their personal schedules and ensure needs are met.
Payroll
  • Twice a month, submit daytime and game night payroll to the payroll department.
Hiring Part-Time Employees
  • Assist Director, Retail Operations in recruiting qualified, enthusiastic part-time staff.
  • Assist in development and training of all policies and procedures.
  • Follow through with procedures and training to ensure that a consistent message is communicated to our staff at each store location.
Restocking/Merchandising
  • Work with Director, Retail Development to develop effective merchandising strategies.
  • Ensure that the store is well stocked with a variety of products for customers to choose from.
  • Follow through with merchandising plans as set out by the Director, Retail Development and make sure that the store always meets a high standard of cleanliness and organization.
  • Work will mall management to identify opportunities or issues unique to the mall setting.
Sales
  • Assist part-time staff with any customer issues that may arise from product or service complaints.
  • Follow up promptly with any customer service issues.
  • Oversee any phone-in orders that need to be held for pick up or sent via Canada Post/Courier;
Reporting
  • Finalize and hand in daily deposits into finance department daily.
  • Replenish cash/coin floats to acceptable levels.
  • Make daily deposits to bank.
  • Hand in monthly reporting, including: Inventory Value Report, Day/Week Sales Report and the Monthly Sales Reconciliation Sheet;
  • Participate in annually and semi-annually in inventory counts.
Other
  • Meet weekly with other retail staff to review operational and staffing issues, new inventory, updates and follow up of previously discussed projects.
  • Coordinate meetings with part-time staff to relay the planning, product and procedure updates.
  • Assist in the maintenance and administration of the website.
  • Other duties as assigned.




What we need from you:
  • Previous successful retail experience, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a solid understanding of customer service.
  • Results driven with the ability to set goals and deliver on priorities.
  • Attention to detail and excellent personal organization skills.
  • A fundamental understanding of database processes.
  • Proactive in anticipating problems and/or issues and providing superior customer service solutions.
  • Judgement to aid in management of relationships with various clients, supplier\xe2\x80\x99s, peers, and supervisors, as required in this role.
  • Very strong organizational skills to stay on task and effectively manage competing demands towards successful and timely completion of projects.
  • Must be flexible with working evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interest & willingness to become part of a team seeking to provide Superior Patron Experience.
  • Possess a valid class 5 driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and have own transportation.
