The market manager focuses on driving revenue and profitability through team motivation, strategic merchandising and operation efficiency.
The market manager oversees the entire store including the retail and commercial kitchen. They work as part of the team to ensure daily back-of-house operations, managing staff, ensuring processes are in place to manage inventory. Overseeing food safety certifications are properly completed and food safety procedures are implemented and maintained. They will ensure efficient running of the kitchen, smooth service, handling everything from hiring and training to working with staff to develop menu implementation and supplier management.
Key Responsibilities
:
: recruit, hire, train, schedule, motivate and evaluate retail and kitchen staff
: Analyze sales data, strategize to maximize revenue, implement promotions and design and maintain displays. Designing and implementing social media posts on a daily to almost-daily basis. Maintaining and updating the market website and responding to customer inquiries.
The market manager will work with the team to develop special events and implement these events with goal towards profitability and broader promotion and growth.
: Ensure a positive shopping experience and uphold service standards and, when necessary, resolve complex complaints.
: Control stock levels, manage ordering, oversee displays, and implement visual merchandising.
Manage budgets, handle daily cash, ensure compliance (health/safety) and maintain store appearance.
