Hope Thrift Store exists to support faith-based orphanages in Mexico and local charities. As a mission-driven thrift store, we are passionate about giving items a second life while creating lasting impact locally and abroad. We are looking for a energetic, friendly person with retail experience looking to contribute to the growth of Hope Thrift Store. Key Responsibilities
Retail & In-Store Duties
Deliver excellent customer service, ensuring a welcoming and positive shopping experience.
Operate cash register and process transactions accurately. (no returns, and exchanges)
Address customer questions, concerns, and complaints in a professional manner, escalating to the Manager when needed.
Adjust and update pricing as directed, ensuring accuracy on the sales floor and at point of sale.
Merchandising & Store Presentation
Work alongside Operations Manager, staff and volunteers to merchandise, price, and organize products in an appealing and accessible way.
Maintain store cleanliness and organization to uphold a safe, inviting environment.
Rotate stock, manage seasonal displays, and ensure inventory is presented according to store standards.
Volunteer Support & Engagement
Support, guide, and encourage volunteers in their roles, fostering teamwork and positivity.
Assist with volunteer recruitment and onboarding.
Help coordinate and participate in volunteer events, including Donation Days, the Christmas Party, and Volunteer Appreciation
.
Store Operations & Administration
Complete documentation for drop-offs, pick-ups, and items on hold; communicate updates to the Operations Manager.
Assist the Manager with training new cashiers and supporting staff/volunteers in operational procedures.
Participate in daily operational tasks such as donation intake, sorting, and restocking.
Leadership & Oversight
Take on supervisory responsibilities when the Manager is away, including store oversight, staff/volunteer coordination, and opening/closing duties.
Lead morning meetings in the absence of the Manager to communicate priorities, assign tasks, and motivate the team.
Monitor adherence to store policies, including safety, loss prevention, and pricing integrity.

Online Sales & Marketing Responsibilities
Collaborate and Identify items that have more value that could be held back to be sold online.
Work with operations manager to create and post engaging, brand-consistent content across social media platforms to promote online listings, sales, donation events, and community activities.
Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by management to support the smooth operation of the store.
