The storage solution architect is responsible for providing deep technical expertise for hardware, software, or services in the creation and delivery of proposals designed to meet customers\xe2\x80\x99 business needs. Creates and maintains effective customer relationships to secure customer satisfaction. Breadth of awareness includes all company portfolio offerings (hardware, software, services, and everything as a service) in deal pursuit situations. Develops and maintains knowledge of adjacent, leading-edge, and emerging technologies in the industry and market segments; and guides customers on how to migrate and/or integrate technologies in new or existing environments. Typically aligned to a specific business unit or, in smaller markets, may represent the deep technical expertise across multiple product or services areas (\xe2\x80\x9cmulti-product Technology Architect\xe2\x80\x9d).
Responsibilities:
Participates in deep-dive discussions and evaluates customer\'s current business needs and desired end-state infrastructure solution to translate the technical view into the implementation view and determine implementation steps necessary to meet complex technical requirements. Delivers in-depth comparative analysis of alternative proposals to meet complex technical solution requirements.
Maintains excellent communication with customer, with key focus on IT managers, administrators, and specialists.
Uses pipeline insights to prioritize high potential deal pursuit activities with appropriate resource investment. Communicates to the account team the tangible offer value in terms of financial return and achievement of business goals.
Provides direction and guidance to improve processes and establish policies. Works with partners to identify gaps and address needs to accelerate channel business.
Assesses the impact of new technologies on the company\xe2\x80\x99s technical solution portfolio and translates this understanding into practice and knowledge sharing activities for broader presales peers, account managers and partners.
Actively monitors competitive activities and their client advocates within accounts to anticipate and plans for competitive threats. Increases the company share of wallet through competitive takeout, demonstrating technical superiority, and leveraging other company services for better TCO/ROI.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in engineering or from technical university.
8\xe2\x80\x9312 years of experience in the storage industry with focus on technical consulting and solution selling.
5-8 years of technical selling experience with major storage companies.
Deep hands-on technical expertise in pitching, demoing and architecting complex solutions
Demonstratable knowledge in virtualization, and at least 2 application stacks (MSSQL, Oracle, SAP etc.)
Working knowledge of hands-on with one of major public clouds (Amazon, Azure, Google) \xe2\x80\x93 certifications preferred
Expert in selling complete data lifecycle management portfolio \xe2\x80\x93 block, file, backup, ransomware protection & others
Deep competitive knowledge of at least 1 major storage vendor
Demonstratable technical knowledge of storage industry and major trends
Deep expertise in at least one of the major verticals (FSI, manufacturing, Healthcare) and related solutions preferred
Self starter and able to ramp quickly
