E-Comm 911 is seeking a Storage Analyst to join our growing Technology Services team. In this newly created role, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining, optimizing, and enhancing our storage infrastructure to support the company\'s growing technological needs.

The successful candidate will work as key member of the Storage team, ensuring that the E-Comm storage and backup infrastructure is maintained at optimum levels to enable the data recoverability for a wide-range of applications. You will be comfortable working in a complex, multi-platform environment, utilizing a broad based understanding of storage, backup and replication technologies, and application relationships.

You will provide technical support to internal and external customers and maintain the performance targets of the storage and backup subsystems through regular monitoring and tuning activities, as well as provide KPI metrics and reporting to customers as required.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Carry out systems analysis related to the overall design, installation and operation of E-Comm storage and backup infrastructure including all core infrastructure equipment/ applications/ functions such as storage, Storage Area Network (SAN), and backups
  • Ensure errors/deficiencies are corrected, completing first/ level troubleshooting across complex infrastructure, equipment, and applications
  • Provide subject matter expertise and lead storage related tasks for complex initiatives and projects that have a significant impact on E-Comm services by reviewing work requests and analyzing requirements and feasibility
  • Identify conflicting requirements and complete impact analyses, estimating tasks and timelines, as well as determining resourcing
  • Work with various Technology Services and customer team members to ensure integrated solutions and represents Technology Services in various initiatives across the organization as a storage and backup SME
  • Implement security measures to safeguard data against unauthorized access and data breaches * Conduct capacity planning to forecast storage needs and make recommendations for upgrades or expansion
  • Perform regular data backups and disaster recovery tests to ensure data integrity and availability
  • Perform data migrations and storage system upgrades with minimal disruption to operations
  • Assist in the development and update of processes, policies, KPI metrics, reporting, and all other documentation required to achieve operational excellence by methods such as establishing standards and procedures for use by Technology Services and customers
  • Write comprehensive system and operating documentation, prepare complex technical/system documents for review and approval, supports the development of system backup, recovery and maintenance procedures
WHAT YOU BRING:
  • Graduation from a recognized degree or diploma program in Computer Science, plus three (3) years recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Certification in relevant storage related technology is considered highly desirable
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods and approaches associated with Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) and the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
  • Demonstrated competency troubleshooting and resolving complex software issues quickly and efficiently to minimize impacts to business
  • Sound ability to identify, analyze and resolve complex business and technical problems
SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:
As a condition of employment at E-Comm, the required Police Security Clearance applicable to the position must be acquired and maintained. This is a process carried out by our law enforcement partner agencies, facilitated by E-Comm. The minimum residency in Canada to qualify for this position, as established by our law enforcement partner agencies, is 5+ years.

To qualify for this process, a candidate may be either a Canadian Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen. We regret any candidates under Student, Visitor, or Work Visas are not eligible for consideration.

Vaccination Policy: E-Comm 911 has a vaccination policy that is currently suspended. However, should the policy be reinstated, it will be a requirement for all current and future employees.

  • Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
  • Wage/Salary: PG 29 | $50.30 to $59.51 hourly; $104,624 to $123,780 annually (2023 rates)
