The Senior Resource Technologist is responsible for developing operating standards, implementing wildfire risk reduction initiatives, contract management, coordinating technical activities, monitoring adherence to legislative and environmental standards, and providing technical expertise to staff in wildfire risk reduction administration and contract administration. Job Requirements:

  • Diploma or equivalent in the natural resource field.
  • Minimum one years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in the natural resource sector.
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver\xe2\x80\x99s Licence.

Preference may be given to those with one (1) or more of the following:
  • Registered with the Association of BC Forest Professionals (ABCFP) as a Registered Forest Technologist (RFT) or equivalent, or enrolled with the ABCFP as a Trainee Forest Technologist (TFT) or equivalent. If this preference is applied, confirmation of registration/eligibility is required before an offer of employment can be made.
  • Experience in wildfire management and wildfire risk reduction.
  • Experience with GIS mapping.
  • Experience working with stakeholders, First Nations, Local Governments, etc.
