This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the stewarding staff, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas, proper maintenance of equipment, and smooth back-of-house operations. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, maintains high standards, and supports the success of the culinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise daily stewarding operations including dishwashing, kitchen cleaning, and waste management.
Train, schedule, and support stewarding team members.
Ensure compliance with health & safety, and sanitation standards.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, storage areas, and workspaces.
Collaborate with Culinary and Food & Beverage leaders to support banquet and restaurant operations.
Control stewarding inventory, chemicals, and supply usage.
Lead by example, maintaining a positive, team-focused work environment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous supervisory experience in a stewarding, dishwashing, or back-of-house role (hospitality or resort experience an asset).
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Knowledge of sanitation guidelines and safe chemical handling.
Ability to motivate and coach team members effectively.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
