THE POSITION





The Steward Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the stewarding team to ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and proper maintain of kitchen and service areas. Coordinates scheduling, assigns tasks, monitors performance and ensures compliance with health and safety standards. Supports kitchen operations by managing inventory of cleaning supplies and maintaining equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast paced environment with a minimum of 1 year experience in a leadership role.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES





Reporting to the Chief Steward, the responsibilities of the position include:


Assist with leading, teaching, coaching and inspiring a team; Assisting the Chief Steward with ensuring all staff arrive for their shift on time, well-groomed and ready to work; Assign work station to all staff during line-up and pass on events and information; Ensuring that all staff are following the proper procedures and standards set in place by the department; Ensure that all Kitchens are cleaned, organized and sanitized; Confirm all daily tasks list are completed; Assist in the correct usage of all chemicals within the department and outlets, including appropriate training in accordance with provincial WHMIS legislation; Assist any outlets and culinary team for any kind of resource request; Ensuring all equipment is cleaned, maintained and properly stored after an event; Have a proactive eye for detail and cleanliness; Assisting the Chief Steward with setting up function areas with required equipment and small wears; Responsible for assigning break times for staff during shift; Follow all safety standards and participate in the safety program; Perform other duties as assigned.



The Individual








Knowledge of industrial dishwashing equipment; Ability to follow and give instructions; Ability to handle multiple tasks at once and prioritize effectively; Energetic, team-oriented individual; Minimum of 1 years of experience in a similar position working in a fast paced production and catering fine dining environment; Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills; Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written; Formal culinary training is considered an asset; High school diploma is considered an asset; Constant standing and walking throughout shift; Ability to lift up to 50lbs




Shifts are event driven and consist of mainly evenings and weekends. 7 day flexible availability is required.
