for our 2025 season. A Steward plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas of a hospitality establishment. The primary responsibilities include washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, ensuring proper sanitation standards, and assisting in the overall cleanliness of the food and beverage operation.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment according to established standards.
Operate industrial dishwashing machines and ensure they are properly maintained.
Hand wash items as needed, paying attention to details and cleanliness.
Maintain the cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment.
Empty and clean trash receptacles regularly.
Assist in the overall cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas.
Adhere to established sanitation and hygiene standards.
Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of waste.
Report any hygiene or sanitation issues to the supervisor.
Provide support to kitchen and service staff as needed.
Assist in the setup and breakdown of dining areas for service.
Assist in monitoring and replenishing cleaning supplies.
Report any shortages or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
Collaborate with other stewarding staff to ensure a smooth workflow.
Communicate effectively with kitchen and service teams to address cleaning needs.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial but not always required.
Knowledge of proper sanitation and hygiene practices.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
Basic communication skills.
Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to work on a varied schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays.
Expected Start Date: June 2025

Compensation: $19-20 per hour, plus gratuities
