Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

EmpowHERto is seeking enthusiastic, culturally aware STEM Program Facilitators to lead interactive workshops for young women ages 13-17. This is a part-time position (10 hours per week) with the flexibility to specialize in one of four exciting tracks: Coding, Data Analytics, Financial Literacy, or Artificial Intelligence (AI). We're looking for facilitators who can make STEM accessible, fun, and relevant while creating an inclusive environment where young women from underserved communities feel empowered to explore technology and build their futures.

CHOOSE YOUR TRACK

Facilitators will specialize in ONE of the following areas:

CODING TRACK

Teach programming fundamentals using languages like Python, JavaScript, or HTML/CSS. Guide participants through hands-on projects like creating skin routines creating apps, or developing games.

DATA ANALYTICS TRACK

Introduce data analysis concepts, Excel/Google Sheets, data visualization, and basic SQL. Help participants learn to interpret data, create dashboards, and tell stories with numbers. Create Projects like netflix dashboards, etc.

FINANCIAL LITERACY TRACK

Teach budgeting, saving, investing and financial planning. Assist participants to make informed financial decisions and build wealth.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) TRACK

Demystify AI and machine learning through practical applications. Explore AI tools, ethics, prompt engineering, and how AI is transforming industries and careers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Workshop Facilitation (3 hours/week)

Lead engaging, interactive STEM workshops and modules for small groups of young women Break down complex concepts into digestible, relatable lessons Create a fun, supportive atmosphere where mistakes are learning opportunities Facilitate hands-on activities, projects, and real-world applications Adapt teaching style to meet diverse learning needs and backgrounds Encourage questions, curiosity, and peer collaboration Use culturally relevant examples that resonate with participants' lived experiences
Preparation & Planning (6-7 hours/week)

Prepare workshop materials, presentations, and activities Customize curriculum to participant interests and skill levels Stay current on trends and tools in your STEM track Track participant progress and provide feedback Communicate with program staff about participant needs and successes
Community Building

Foster an inclusive, welcoming environment for all participants Serve as a relatable role model and mentor Connect STEM skills to real career opportunities and pathways Celebrate participant achievements and build confidence Create a sense of belonging in STEM spaces

Skills



Strong classroom management skills to create an organized and motivating learning environment. Ability to implement behavior management techniques effectively to support positive student interactions. Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members professionally.
