Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research organization to engage professionals with advanced expertise in Statistics. As an
AI Tutor - Statistics Specialist
, you will play a pivotal role in training next-generation AI systems to reason accurately about statistical concepts, methodologies, and data analysis. This is a
full-time opportunity
for experts who are passionate about advancing statistical reasoning within cutting-edge AI technologies.
You'll collaborate closely with technical and research teams to develop and refine data annotation frameworks, design challenging statistical problems, and provide detailed, high-quality feedback that enhances model understanding. Your expertise will directly shape how advanced AI systems engage with complex statistical reasoning--from probability theory and inferential methods to Bayesian modeling and experimental design.
2. Key Responsibilities
Use proprietary software to annotate and evaluate statistical data, equations, and model outputs
Design and select challenging statistical problems in areas such as probability theory, regression modeling, stochastic processes, and Bayesian inference
Collaborate with technical teams to refine annotation tools and workflows for higher accuracy and efficiency
Analyze and critique AI-generated statistical reasoning to improve clarity, correctness, and interpretability
Choose problems from statistical domains that align with your expertise, focusing on areas such as probability theory, inferential statistics, regression modeling, multivariate analysis, stochastic processes, Bayesian methods, experimental design, and data-driven applications where you can confidently provide detailed solutions and evaluate model responses
Ensure the highest standard of data quality and maintain consistency across diverse tasks and formats, including text, voice, and video
3. Ideal Qualifications
Master's or PhD in Statistics, or Mathematics with a strong focus on probability or applied statistics
Exceptional command of English, both written and verbal
