We are an electric vehicle startup focused on serving the people of Canada, by building long-range, winter-proof vehicles from the ground up.
We are taking a bold approach by developing our vehicles around a completely new sodium-ion battery chemistry. This technology offers exciting advantages but also presents unique challenges from both a battery management and electrical systems perspective. If you are excited by solving first-of-their-kind engineering problems, this is your chance to get involved early and make a real impact.
Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated Electrical Engineer to take ownership of all electrical aspects of our vehicle. You will help design, source, and test the electrical systems that power, control, and connect our car. From the wiring harness to the battery management system, you will be involved in every step of the process.
This is an entry-level position suited for someone who wants to build real vehicles, not just work on simulations. You should be confident, independent, and eager to learn in a fast-paced startup environment where you can take ideas from concept to reality.
Responsibilities
Design and integrate vehicle electrical systems, both high-voltage and low-voltage.
Develop wiring diagrams, schematics, and PCB layouts.
Source and validate electrical components and suppliers.
Support design and testing of the sodium-ion battery management system (BMS).
Assist with integration of power electronics, charging, and control systems.
Support prototype builds and hands-on vehicle testing.
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during development.
Maintain accurate documentation, schematics, and component tracking.
Collaborate with other engineers to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
Qualifications
Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field. Phds may apply as well, and would command a higher salary.
Hands-on experience from Formula Student, EcoCAR, or similar projects is highly preferred.
Understanding of power electronics, wiring, and battery systems.
Familiarity with tools such as Altium, KiCad, or SolidWorks Electrical.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Comfortable working independently and managing multiple tasks.
Passion for vehicles, engineering, and new technologies.
Nice to Have
Experience with CAN bus systems, embedded controls, or BMS design.
Hands-on experience building or modifying vehicles or prototypes.
