Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Stamping Press Set-up/Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and experience with various Presses and fabrication processes. This role is essential in ensuring that our production meets quality standards while adhering to safety protocols.

Duties

Monitoring and controlling a semi/fully automated stamping process with hydraulic and servo-hydraulic presses and their supporting Automation (De-coiler, straightener, and transfer system) Responsible for press set-up, product quality inspection, data recording and minor adjustments to the equipment and tooling. Set-up and operate presses with Manual/ Progressive Die or Transfer Die. Conduct quality inspections on finished products using Calipers, Gauges and other measuring tools. Maintain equipment by performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting mechanical issues. Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and improve efficiency. Adhere to safety guidelines while operating hand tools, and forklifts in the manufacturing environment. Establish and maintain effective communication levels within all levels of the organization. Working in both a team environment supporting your peers and as an individual maintaining your own workstation and production responsibilities.

Job Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years previous experience, as a Set-up/Operator preferably in the Sheet Metal Stamping industry. Applicants must have prior work experience with Set-up and operating a semi /fully automated stamping process with hydraulic and/or mechanical presses. Competent and knowledgeable with progressive and transfer press operations and functions. Previous experience driving a lift truck is advantageous. Knowledge and understanding of basic Tool and Die Technology. Knowledge and understanding of basic automated concepts an asset. Must be willing to work afternoon shift and extended hours when required.
