Position Overview



The Stakeholder Communications Associate supports NAT's engagement efforts by drafting and sending professional communications, monitoring stakeholder inquiries across digital platforms, and ensuring timely responses. This role also manages tracking systems, supports onboarding, and provides feedback reporting to improve stakeholder experiences.

Key Responsibilities



Stakeholder Communication:



Draft and send formal emails to various stakeholder groups (Proofread and CC) Monitor and respond to questions or concerns on our website and Discord, or redirect them to the appropriate internal contact.

Engagement and Outreach:



Send targeted outreach emails using platforms like Yet Another Mail Merge (YAMM), especially for recruitment campaigns. Coordinate internal and external communication efforts

Tracking and Analytics:



Monitor website analytics to identify new applicants for roles or initiatives; initiate follow-up communications with interested individuals. Create and maintain structured tracking sheets for stakeholder engagement, application progress, and onboarding status. Perform regular (hourly/daily) checks on digital platforms to ensure no critical messages or opportunities are missed.

Onboarding Support:



Maintain up-to-date records of stakeholders' onboarding progress. Collaborate with relevant teams to ensure smooth onboarding experiences.

Stakeholder Feedback and Reporting:



Identify and document challenges or "pain points" faced by stakeholders. Report insights to the relevant NAT members or teams for timely resolution and continuous improvement.

Skills & Competencies



Strong written and verbal communication skills. Clear, concise writing style suitable for public, technical, and promotional audiences. Ability to synthesize complex information into accessible, engaging language. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams and respond well to feedback.

Tools and Technologies



Communication & Collaboration:

Gmail, Slack, Google Meet, Discord

Content Creation & Marketing:

Google Docs, DevPost, Luma

Project Management & Documentation:

ClickUp, Google Sheets, Google Drive

Qualifications



Required



Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional tone. High level of organization and attention to detail. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain regular check-ins on digital platforms. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse stakeholder groups. Demonstrated commitment to responsiveness and follow-through.

Preferred



Experience in stakeholder engagement, communications, or a related role. Proficiency with email campaign tools (e.g., YAMM) Comfortable working across digital platforms (e.g., Discord, Slack, DevPost, Gmail). Experience creating and managing tracking systems (spreadsheets, databases, etc.).

Working Conditions



This is a hybrid position based in Edmonton, Alberta, requiring in-person work 1-2 days per week and full on-site presence during key program dates. Some evening or weekend work may be required during live events.

Eligibility Criteria (Subject to BioTalent Canada Student Work Placement Program)



Student must be enrolled full- or part-time at a Canadian post-secondary institution. Student must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee protection, and legally permitted to work in Canada.
