Staffing Advisor/HR Generalist

Description -

This role is hybrid (flex) in nature, whereby there is a combination of working from home (remote) as well as working out of the HP Mississauga office (on-site) each week. At this time, it is expected that the HR team member will work on-site approximately 2 days per week or as otherwise required by HR Leadership based upon the needs of the HR team, Company, business, customers, and assignments. Details regarding the work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be further discussed at the time of your interview by the hiring manager.

Position Summary

Manages the end-to-end recruitment process including consulting with HR and business partners to identify staffing needs. Drives the global strategic programs, policies, platforms, services, and tools that enable HP to align staffing with the workforce plans. Drives programs in areas such as workforce redeployment and reduction, university hiring and contingent workforce management. Develops and manages relationships with staffing vendors and Global Business Services (GBS) organizations.

Additionally, this role provides a range of HR support and program implementation activities across multiple businesses, functions, and geographies. Responds to general HR questions around policies, procedures, and programs. Ensures HR programs are implemented based on business-specific priorities and legal requirements at the country level. Collaborates across the HR organization to deliver an integrated portfolio of services to all employees.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains relationships with hiring managers within a business; develops relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Responsible for actively sourcing and hiring candidates within Canada, as well as the US and other countries as required.
  • Assists with the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion plan for Canada and implements identified action plans. Builds relationships with external organizations focused on diverse candidates.
  • Builds strong relationships with Canadian universities and posts roles according to their requirements.
  • Attends career fairs to help promote HP.
  • Drives and supervises the achievement of the hiring targets for the business, including time to fill, cost per hire, graduate, diversity and hiring manager and candidate satisfaction.
  • Manages the beginning to end staffing process within the sub- region; implements sourcing strategies within the sub- regions, screens candidates, provides a short list of candidates, coordinates interviews, creates offer letters, and facilitates relocation.
  • Counsels with managers on the hiring process and ensures that managers are in compliance with corporate and government policy.
  • Establishes relationships with vendors and Business Process Outsourcing agencies to meet the needs of the staffing plan.
  • Uses significant business knowledge and subject matter expertise to contribute to the execution of the staffing strategy, including talent attraction, hiring, relocation, and the contingent workforce.
  • Implements human resources programs to meet geography, business, and functional needs.
  • Manages the delivery of multiple programs simultaneously across the Americas.
  • Partners with mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and outsourcing (MADO) to ensure new employee integration success.
  • Provides a full range of HR support and program implementation activities across multiple businesses, functions, and geographies.
  • Delivers programs and policies developed globally that are specialized for local or regional requirements.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required
  • First level university degree.
  • Typically, 4-6 years of related experience in Human Resources.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Bilingual in English and French (requirement)
  • Spanish is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple demands and priorities, often independently.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience in managing relationships.
  • Experience in managing small staffing and human resources projects or participating in larger staffing and human resources projects.
  • Experience in process improvement.
  • Strong project management and research skills.
  • Ability to respond independently to complex inquiries.
