has a staff social worker position available immediately for our Assisting Survivors of Gender-Based Violence Project. This is a full time contract position until March 2026. The staff social worker will provide social work advocacy and support to survivors of gender-based violence. The social worker will be part of our team and will engage in our program activities including case work, public and continuing legal education, law reform, community development, and student supervision.
Legal Assistance of Windsor (LAW)
is an interdisciplinary clinic combining legal and social work professions to meet the multi-faceted needs of the low-income community in Windsor and Essex County.
LAW
is a joint service of the Faculty of Law, University of Windsor and Legal Aid Ontario. This project is funded by the Department of Justice.
The successful candidate will be a member of OCSWSSW. They will have experience identifying risk and supporting the needs of individuals experiencing gender-based violence. They will have knowledge of community resources and the ability to establish service delivery protocols. They will have a collaborative approach to social work and strong interpersonal skills. A strong interest in social justice and community development is required. An understanding of the intersectional relationship of gender identity, gender expression, violence, poverty, disability, and race is required. The annual salary will be commensurate with experience, starting at $68,000.
