Recruitment range: $95,649- $105,476 starting salary

determined by the PEA Collective Agreement.

Performance range: $124,447

salary range ceiling is available through annual performance increases. Job Summary

Mandate:



The Staff Psychologist plays a key role in the University of Victoria's Psychology Clinic, a community-facing teaching clinic operated by the Department of Psychology. This position supports the Clinic's dual mandate of providing low-barrier psychological services to the local community and offering high-quality clinical training to graduate students in the Clinical Psychology program. The incumbent is responsible for the supervision and training of student clinicians engaged in psychological assessment, ensuring that clinical practices meet ethical standards, regulatory requirements, and the developmental needs of trainees.


Objectives:




Deliver high-quality, developmentally appropriate clinical supervision to graduate students in psychological assessment. Support students in applying psychological theory and assessment techniques to real-world clinical practice. Maintain ethical, inclusive, and culturally responsive supervision that aligns with CPA and College standards. Coordinate with the Clinic Director to ensure a safe, effective, and efficient training environment. Contribute to a psychologically safe and socially just learning climate for diverse students and clients.

The clinic provides in-person and telehealth services and operates as a community-facing teaching facility, which may involve interaction with diverse populations and sensitive situations.


Job Requirements
This position requires a level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from a CPA- or APA-accredited program, plus a minimum of three years of relevant clinical experience providing psychological assessment and intervention. The incumbent must also have at least one year of experience supervising graduate student clinicians in psychological assessment. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:


Demonstrated expertise in psychoeducational and diagnostic assessment for children, adults, and families. Strong skills in clinical supervision and familiarity with best practices in graduate-level training. Excellent communication and strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to manage workflow, case assignments, and clinic systems efficiently. Familiarity with CPA accreditation standards and provincial regulatory guidelines. Commitment to fostering inclusive, culturally safe, and socially just training and service environments. Capacity to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and ethical leadership in a clinical teaching setting. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment.
