We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. - Our hours of operation is 10am to 5pm Saturday
- This is a low volume work day. The majority of the shift will just be spent checking blister packs.
- There will be an assistant at all times
- There is NO methadone
- Ability to speak Cantonese is preferred but not required
- Proficiency with Kroll is preferred but not required
- This position is ideal for someone looking to take on additional hours, while working in a low stress environment
Duties
Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently in accordance with physician orders and legal requirements
Provide medication counseling and education to patients regarding proper usage, potential side effects, and interactions
Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and review medication therapy plans
Monitor patient responses to medications and report adverse reactions or concerns
Maintain detailed records of prescriptions, patient interactions, and inventory management
Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, safety protocols
Assist in medication administration processes within clinical settings
Stay updated on new pharmaceuticals, medical terminology, and advancements in patient care practices
Qualifications
Valid pharmacist license in Ontario
Certified in injection administration, First Aid/CPR
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration protocols
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations
Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams
Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in dispensing medications
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with industry standards
Experience:
pharmacist: 1 year (preferred)
