We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Staff Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, medication administration, and experience in various healthcare settings, including pediatrics and acute care. The Staff Pharmacist will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes and enhance the overall quality of care.
Responsibilities
Review and interpret physician orders to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of prescribed medications.
Dispense medications accurately while adhering to all legal and regulatory requirements.
Provide medication counseling to patients and their families, ensuring they understand their treatment plans.
Monitor patient responses to medications, making necessary adjustments in collaboration with the healthcare team.
Educate healthcare staff on medication management, safety protocols, and best practices in patient care.
Maintain accurate records of medication dispensing and patient interactions.
Participate in clinical rounds and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions regarding patient care strategies.
Stay current with developments in pharmacotherapy, including new medications and treatment guidelines.
Qualifications
Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
Active pharmacist license in good standing within the state of practice.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration practices.
Experience in pediatrics or acute care settings is preferred but not required.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
